Tourist licence renewal: Generalitat Valenciana
Do you have a tourist licence in Comunidad Valenciana and are unsure what will happen in 2029? Here we explain in simple terms what is required under Decree 143/2024 to renew your entry in the Tourism Register.
Depending on the date on which you obtained the licence, you must submit only a self-declaration of compliance, add a planning compatibility report, or also a certificate from the property owners’ association.
Remember that registration is valid for 5 years and that all licences issued before 7 August 2024 expire on 8 August 2029. From that date, they must be renewed under the new requirements. You can also consult the Official FAQs .

Valid until 2029, with renewal every 5 years
- Registration in the Registro de Turismo de la Comunidad Valenciana (Valencian Community Tourism Register) is valid for 5 years.
- All licences granted before 7 August 2024 will remain valid until 8 August 2029.
- From that date, you will be required to apply for renewal under the decree's new requirements.
What will be required in 2029 based on your licence date
1. Licences issued before 8 July 2018
📖 Transitional Provision 1, paragraphs 1 and 2
👉 You will only need to submit a basic declaration of compliance.
2. Licences issued between 8 July 2018 and 8 August 2024
📖 Transitional Provision 1, paragraph 3
- Basic self-declaration of compliance
- Updated planning compatibility report
- The report must confirm that, at the time of renewal (2029 onwards), the property remains compatible with use as tourist accommodation.
3. Licences issued after 8 August 2024
📖 Article 10.3 and Additional Provision 2
In addition to the requirements above, the following is required:
- Certificate from the owners' association expressly authorising tourist use.
- Mandatory minimum services: the decree requires there to be an actual cleaning, linen-changing and maintenance service, not merely naming a professional in the contract.
