💶 How much is payable?

In both cases, the ordinance sets a rate of €2 per person per night, with a limit of 5 nights per guest for each stay.

In both cases, the official rate is €2 per person per night, with a maximum of 5 nights per guest for each stay.

Practical examples:

  • Couple in a holiday home (3 nights):
    2 € x 2 people x 3 nights = 12 € in total.
  • 👨👩👧👦Group of 4 people in a rural holiday home (6 nights):
    2 € x 4 people x 5 nights (max.) = €40 in total.

🙅 Who does not have to pay?

Not all guests have to pay the tax. The ordinance sets out cases not subject to the tax and several exemptions:

  • Non-emancipated minors
  • People with a recognised disability rating of ≥65 %
  • Stays for health reasons (patients and accompanying persons accredited by SERGAS)
  • Stays due to force majeure (disasters, justified emergencies)
  • Trips subsidised by EU social programmes
  • Federation-registered athletes taking part in official competitions in A Coruña
  • Stays due to building work at the guest's main residence
  • Conference delegates attending official events in the city
  • University lecturers teaching official courses lasting less than 5 days

👉 Guests must provide supporting evidence during their stay to qualify for the exemption.
