ℹ How data is collected under Royal Decree 933/2021
According to the AEPD, to comply with Royal Decree 933/2021 (Annex I, sections A.3, A.4, B.3 and B.4), accommodation providers may use a form that collects only the required data. This form can be completed online or in person.
- In-person data collection: you only need to check visually that the details entered in iButlers match the identity document shown.
- Online data collection without in-person assistance: you can use video calls, digital certificates, verification using payment method details, or security codes sent to the guest's phone or email address.
- The operator may use other valid procedures, provided they comply with the GDPR.
- NEVER request a copy of the identity document.
